Update: Important Wedding Info

COVID Information: Ventura County Health guidelines require the use of masks indoors, even for fully vaccinated people. Please be sure to have a mask with you to wear at the Mission. For your safety, you can choose to be indoors or outdoors at City Hall during cocktail hour. Dinner will be served on the outdoor patio, and dancing will be inside in the atrium.

Weather and Attire: Weather in October is unpredictable and could be as warm as 95 or as cool as 65 during the day. Ventura tends to be cooler than other Southern California locations and can get quite cold at night. Please bring something warm for the outdoor dinner.

Parking and Transport: The Mission is about half a mile from City Hall. There are several public parking lots near both the Mission and City Hall. Most lots have a 4 hour time limit, so we recommend driving between the two locations. You can also park behind City Hall (no parking limit) and walk to and from the Mission.

Ceremony: Please plan to arrive to the Mission early in order to find your seat. The ceremony will begin promptly at 2pm.

Timing: The ceremony will begin promptly at 2pm. After the ceremony, please enjoy downtown Ventura, and proceed to City Hall for cocktail hour starting at 3pm. Dinner will begin around 4:30pm, followed by dancing and merriment. The bride and groom plan to depart the reception around 8pm.

The Ceremony

Our ceremony will be held at the historic Mission Basilica San Buenaventura in the heart of downtown Ventura. Led by Father Tom, we will exchange our vows in a liturgy of the Word ceremony that will incorporate many aspects of a traditional matrimonial mass (without the full length).

The Reception

Our reception will take place at Ventura City Hall, about 3 blocks from the Mission. You are invited to join us for a cocktail hour in the Grand Foyer, followed by a seated dinner on the patio and dancing in the atrium. Bring something warm as the weather in October is unpredictable.

Downtown Ventura offers a lot of fun breweries, restaurants, and shops. If you venture a few miles south of downtown, the Harbor area is also a fun place for kayaking, dining, and shopping.
