Tory and James's Picture Guide to Ventura
Here are a few of our favorite spots around town to eat, drink, and get into shenanigans

Ventura Pier
Scenic and historic, the pier is a beautiful place for a walk. You can grab a beer at Madewest brewery or fish tacos at Beach House tacos. (The pier was also the site of our first kiss.)

Ventiki
Want some tropical cocktails guaranteed to erase any worries? Ventiki is your spot! A small bar with a great patio, they serve up drinks and apps. Tory's pick: the Lapu Lapu .
Rumfish Y Vino
Serving some of the best food in town, Rumfish Y Vino offers fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The patio is inviting, the ceviche fresh, and the flatbread comforting. They also have a great happy hour!

Botanical Gardens
With views of the city that are not to be missed, the Ventura Botanical Gardens offer an easy hike up above downtown Ventura. Access to the gardens is behind City Hall, and on a clear day, you can see the islands. Free on Fridays!
Madewest Brewery
As one of Ventura's largest breweries, Madewest has a great selection of beers from hoppy to malty. Located in an industrial park, there isn't much around, but they always have a food truck and a great vibe.

Kayaking Ventura Harbor
Ventura Harbor offers kayak, paddle board, and paddleboat rentals. You can cruise around the harbor and into the keys, Keep your eyes out for sea lions as you enjoy a great day on the water!

Ventura Harbor
With, local shops and good restaurants, the harbor is a great spot to visit on a nice day. Enjoy checking out the ships, catch a ferry out to the Channel Islands (full day trip), and shop local. Favorite spots: Sugar Lab Bakery and Brophy Bros.
Channel Islands Nat'l Park
Located in Ventura Harbor, the National Park visitor's center for the Channel Islands has a small aquarium and information on the Channel Islands just off the coast. It's free and worth a quick stop if you're in the harbor.

Ventura Coast Brewing Co.
Located in the heart of downtown Ventura, VCBC (as the locals call it) is our favorite brewery in town. If you hit it up on a Thursday night, they have "Tap 9," a special limited cask release. Their hazy IPAs are amazing!

Arroyo Verde
One of the best hikes in Ventura, Arroyo Verde park offers a medium difficulty 3ish mile loop hike. The views of the islands, Ventura basin, and ocean are worth the trip up the trail.
Downtown Thrift Stores
Ventura is well-known for its many thrift stores. From Goodwill to ARC to SPARC, there are many second-hand treasures to be found. Pictures of your findings and shenanigans are encouraged!

Ventura Beach Promenade
A walking path right along the beach, the Promenade offers scenic views and a great place to get some exercise and fresh air. This is an easy two-block walk from Main Street, and goes right under the pier.
